Mochi is an AI-powered screening agent created by us at MakiPeople. It helps hiring teams run short, fair, and consistent screenings. Mochi will ask you a few simple questions about your experience and eligibility, and sometimes short skills-based questions. Your answers are then securely shared with the recruiters managing your application.

Mochi always introduces itself via SMS before the screening, so you will always be informed that the screening is supported by the use of AI.

You’ll receive an invitation link or a call directly from Mochi when your interview is ready. Just follow the instructions provided — whether it’s a phone screen or a web-based chat — to start. There’s no need to download anything.

No, you won't be able to do a practice run before your interview. But don't panic!

For the best experience with the web version of Mochi, we recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome on desktop.
For the telephone screening, it can be taken from any mobile phone with a network connection - just like a usual phone call.

During peak times, you may need to wait a little longer. You will be informed via SMS that we are busier than usual. If you have not received a call after 12 hours, please contact us at [email protected] and we will check for you.

Find a quiet space with a reliable network connection. Use a device with a working microphone, and avoid background noise or multitasking during your interview.
For the telephone screening, please avoid using headphones such as AirPods, as this can affect the sound quality of your answers.

If Mochi talks over you or doesn’t seem to hear properly, it may be a connection or background noise issue.

Don’t worry. Send an SMS on the original thread and a new call will be triggered. You will then be able to pick up where you left off.

If the AI becomes unresponsive during a telephone call, please hang up. You will then be prompted via SMS to restart the call.

Your application is managed by the company you applied to. After you complete your screening, recruiters will review your responses and contact you with next steps. 
We at MakiPeople cannot provide you with any further information regarding the next steps in the process.

The hiring team reviewing your application can access your interview and score.
We can also access it for the purposes of supporting your recruiter or resetting the screening if needed for technical reasons.

No. Mochi does not use your data to train AI models. Your interview is stored securely and used only for recruitment purposes in accordance with privacy regulations.

Mochi may automatically exclude candidates only in very specific and objective cases, such as when a work permit is explicitly required and you confirm that you do not hold one. In accordance with the EU AI Act and ISO 27001 principles, all other decisions involve human review to ensure fairness, transparency, and non-discrimination.
