Introduction

Maki is designed to give you full control over your recruitment process at all times. If you ever notice an issue with an assessment : whether it relates to AI scoring, question content, or any other concern : you can suspend it instantly by archiving it. This stops all candidate access immediately, with no delay.

This mechanism is part of Maki's human oversight framework, in line with AI Act Article 14(4)(e), which requires that AI systems remain interruptible by human operators at any time.

1. Who can archive an assessment?

Only users with one of the following roles can archive an assessment:

  • Hiring Manager

  • Recruiter

  • Administrator

❗️ If your role is Manager, Interviewer, Assessment Reviewer, or a custom role, you do not have archiving permissions. Please reach out to a colleague with a Hiring Manager, Recruiter, or Administrator role — they can archive the assessment on your behalf.

2. How to pause an assessment

  1. Log in to your Maki account.

  2. Navigate to the affected assessment.

  3. Click the "..." menu at the top right of the assessment page.

  4. Click "Archive".

💡 Archiving takes effect immediately. As soon as you confirm, no candidate can access or continue the assessment.

3. What happens after archiving?

Once an assessment is archived:

  • All ongoing candidate sessions are suspended instantly.

  • No candidate can access or resume the assessment. The assessment will appear as expired on the candidate's side.

  • All scores remain fully visible to you : both from the Maki platform and from your ATS.

  • No new assessment instance can be created or launched.

  • The assessment and its data remain intact : nothing is deleted.

💡 Archiving is fully reversible. You can unarchive an assessment at any time by following the exact same process: click the "..." menu and select "Unarchive". Candidate links will immediately become accessible again once the assessment is restored.

4. After archiving: reporting the issue

Once you have archived the assessment, please report the problem so our team can investigate and resolve it as quickly as possible.

  • Write to us at [email protected] : we will do everything we can to resolve the situation promptly.

❗️ Please do not leave a problematic assessment running while waiting for a response. Archive it first : then contact us. This ensures candidate results are not affected further while the issue is being investigated.
