Overview

Recruiters can customize the weight of different activities in an assessment and highlight its importance to the overall score. By modifying the weights of the activities, recruiters can gain more flexibility over candidate assessments, ensuring that the assessment matches the specific criteria and standards of the role they are looking to fill. This also enables the recruiters to better align their assessments with their recruitment priorities and focus areas.

The weight for each activity can range from 0 to 100 which represents the percentage contribution of the activity’s score. The combined weight of all activities must add up to 100%.

A recruiter should be able to identify the scoring weight by looking at the percentage at the right of the weight icon that is shown in blue.

Here’s a sample illustration on how the custom weights affect the final assessment score using the equation below:

  • English C1:

    • Score: 80

    • Weight: 20%

  • Cybersecurity Foundations:

    • Score: 60

    • Weight: 70%

  • System Check:

    • Score: 20

    • Weight: 10%

The final assessment score is calculated as follows:

So, the overall assessment score is 56.

Important things to consider

  • Recalculation Timing: After you update the weights for activities, all candidates' scores will be recalculated. Please note that this recalculation process will take a few minutes to complete; it is not instantaneous.

  • Resetting Weights: If you need to revert to the original weight settings, you can do so at any time by clicking the ‘reset’ button.

  • Missing Weights: Any activity that does not have a weight assigned will be excluded from the overall score calculation. Make sure every activity has a weight to ensure accurate scoring.

  • Zero Weights: If you set a weight to 0, the score for that activity will not be included in the overall assessment score. Use this feature to exclude certain activities from the final score without removing them from the assessment.

  • Total Weight Requirement: The sum of all activity weights must be exactly 100%. If the total weight is not exactly 100%, the score calculation will fail. Ensure your weights are correctly distributed to avoid this issue.

How to adjust the weights of each activity?

  1. Open the assessment that you want to update.

  2. Go to the Settings > click on Activities.

  3. To change the weight of an activity, click on the blue percentage at the right of the activity name.

  4. Update the weight of each activity but make sure that it will equal 100.

  5. Click on Save.

Customizing activity weights in assessments allows recruiters to tailor evaluations to their specific needs. By adjusting these weights, recruiters can ensure that the overall score reflects the importance of different skills and competencies. This customization enhances the accuracy of candidate evaluations, aligning them with recruitment goals.
